SweetSimplicitee... to a tee...

Good morning all, I wanted to share a set of cards with you that I made a little while ago...

...very simple, an embossed background with a sentiment, tied together with a matching ribbon, simple, but effective I think.

Enjoy your day wherever it takes you.
Bye for now,

A Busy Day...

Yesterday was a pretty productive day... sure, there was the initial mundaneness of the washing, a few groceries, getting dinner into the slow cooker... but then I got to tackle the fun stuff!

First up, it was my Godson's sixth birthday, so I wanted to make something to take to his afternoon party, I am so used to pink, pink, pink, so it was nice to make something boyish and blue...

...these tasty little meringues are such a pretty blue before they go into the oven, but they do change somewhat afterwards...

... but they were still yummy ; )

Next up was the birthday card, I had already made one, but decided at the last minute that it just wouldn't do, so made this...

...then half an hour before I went to pick up the girls from school, I got a bee in my bonnet about making a pretty strap for my camera, so I made this...

...out of my favourite Amy Butler Full Moon Polka and Wallflower fabric. Now, my camera matches my handbag, that matches my cooking apron... ( and this is the house that Jack built, ha ha)...because... you just never know when you might want to use them all at the same time... right?

I hope you have enjoyed your week, thanks for checking in to see what I have been up to and have a great weekend, bye for now

A Birthday Wish ♥ ...and a Sweet Baby Card

It has been a beautiful rainy day here is Brisvegas, and what better way to spend it than with a good friend on her special day... Happy Birthday Jini! Throw in some yummy food and a day of shopping... ah... perfection... at it's very best! Thanks for a great day Jini : )

Today I also wanted to share one of my favourite cards with you. Do you have a card, or something else that you have created, and keep just because you love it? That's how I feel about this one, I made it a couple of years ago. I don't quite know what it is about it, I just know that I do struggle to let it go. If my friends ever ask me for a baby card, I remove this one before I show them the box... weird, hey?

It was so long ago that I am not even sure of the products used in it anymore... I know it was when I had my Cricut machine for the scalloped square on the front, and that the stamp is a Heidi Swapp one, but other than that, I am not quite sure ; )

What handmade treats are you savouring for yourself?

Have a great day, smiles and bye for now,

Challenge Time

Good morning all. A little challenge entry today, Kristina is hosting a challenge over at her lovely blog, to make a one layered card. Mmm, sounds like me right? Absolutely! I have had these cards in my posession for a little while now, I can't seem to part with them;)

The mushroom one is for the challenge, the others are just for fun, because I love single-layered cards.

Be sure to pop on over to Kristina's blog and have a look at the other entries, they are all so lovely.

Enjoy your day,

{Oh Deer...}

Does anyone else have an obsession with sweet little Bambi's and Mushrooms, or is it just me? Every time I set to work with this gorgeous Kokka fabric, I can't help but looking at the print and thinking how stinkin' cute it is. I was able to pinch a little time today to finish one of the bags from this post last week.

I made a few design changes this time around. I have made the Yo-Yo on a brooch pin, allowing you to take it on and off as you please, I think this will make washing the bag easier and allow you to make it look a little different should you want to change things up a bit;)

I have been wanting to use this lovely wooden button on something, and thought this would be the perfect backdrop for it. I bought it at the BrisStyle markets on Racecourse Rd last year from the lovely girls at Where'sBeckyBean, you can check out their blogs here and here. Their father makes these buttons from old floorboards, I love finding little treasures with a nice story and a little history behind them, and love it even more when it is something I can add to my creations.

The lining fabric is from Amy Butler's "Love" range, such a gorgeous colour, don't you think? It's almost a pity it's hidden on the inside, but imagine the delight each time you delve into the depths of your bag and see these pretty spots?

There's even a useful little pocket inside, perfect for a phone and some lip balm, what more could you want? I also lined the spotty fabric with some iron-on fleece, they are so comfy to carry on your shoulder for a day out with this lining.

I have opened up yet another Etsy store, SweetStitching, just for my fabric creations, I am a bit of a control freak, and I  felt it was important to define the differences in the things I create and sell, paper (SweetSimplicitee) and fabric (SweetStitching). In time, I will close down the KreationsKathy Etsy store, it was created when all was new, and my crafty life was still evolving... a process that will never be complete, it's just all part of the ride! This funky little number is the first item I have listed in this new and exciting adventure into the crafty world.

It was so nice to get some time to be a little crafty today, and even better when there's a finished product in there! That's why I tend to create so many cards, I can start and finish the task in one sitting, walking away without the thoughts of the next step eating at my brain.

Thanks for checking in to see what I have been up to, enjoy your weekend, bye for now

Lovey Card and Pretty Birdies

Good afternoon blog friends. The girls are a little worn out today, so I had a little spell this afternoon, not quite enough to finish those 'Deer' Mushie handbags awaiting their final steps, but enough to whip up a quick card. I have had this embossing folder for a few weeks now, and hadn't used it as yet, so I wanted to try it out. It's quite pretty, don't you think?

And here is a new camera play pic... a lovely pair of pale-headed rosella's that have made a home in our backyard. Dear Hubby had a pet one of these as a kid, so he's quite fond of our furry feathered little mates;)

Enjoy your day, thanks to the lovely ladies who have left comments recently, you make my day:)

Now on a completely different topic, I would like to introduce you to my new best friend...

I have been struggling along with my trusty compact digital for some time now, I had to make the choice at Christmas between a DeLonghi Cappucino maker or a Digital SLR, and seeing as my girls regularly rise between 4 and 5 am, I went for the DeLonghi option {and I ♥ it}, as I am sure you can appreciate.

When my Compact starting playing up a couple of weeks ago, I finally HAD TO make the decision to trade up... oh, how tough on me I hear you saying... I know, I know, I'll be ok though... hee hee. So here he is, he's just so pretty... I am sooo hoping you see an improvement in my photos now, otherwise I will feel like a bit of a twit, as I always blame my camera... odds are that it's actually me!

Well, that's it from me for today, thanks for checking in, I do promise a post with something I have made by the end of the week! Bye for now

{Holiday Fun}

The holiday excitement has proved to be too much for me, and I have been hit once again by my dreaded friend, the migraine. After two hazy days, I am back with just a quick little post to say, hello, and I will be back creating something pretty in the not too distant future:)

I will share with you the pretty lillies that Dear Hubby discovered at a lovely little gourmet deli in town, they smell just divine and have been lifting my spirits each time I look their way.

On a crafty/mummy note, I have to be realistic, these half finished little baggies will have to sit untouched for a wee while, as I feel it is important to catch up on Hungry Hippo, Guess Who and My Little Pony Trouble, reading favourite stories (Guess How Much I Love You has been our favourite since we gave it to the girls for Easter), jumping on the trampoline (that one may have to wait another couple of days actually), baby cino's and gingerbread men at Gloria's, drawing on the pavers with HUGE chalk, and snuggles with my little cherubs, as they have been absolute gems while I have spent the days out of action and on the couch.

I am going to take a break from the blogging world to enjoy all these things for a wee while, thanks for understanding.
Have a great week, wherever the journey takes you.
Bye for now ♥ ♥ ♥

Just fluttering by.....

Good Morning All. I have not had much time to create any fun stuff during the Easter weekend, so have gone back through the archives to find something pretty to share with you.

I seem to revisit this style of card regularly, and so love these Amy Butler die cut butterflies. I will be a sobbing mess when I do come to the end of them... but luckily that will be a little ways off yet, as I did buy enough to make cards for a few years yet!

One of my favourite things in card making is Kraft Cardstock with a little splash of colour...not too much, just a little...

I am hoping to get a few bags made and posted over the next couple of days... watch this space! I have three on the go, with some cute Kokka fabric. I had finished one, but it was snaffled up by our lovely family doctor before I had a chance to take a photo of it... I have to admit to being more than a little chuffed when someone wants one of my creations! Apparently, I am now global too... hee hee, there are two of my bags being flashed on the arms of lovelies in New Zealand... plus my lovely sister in law in Hong Kong of course! Well , I think that's pretty cool ; -)

Enjoy your day wherever it takes you.

♥ Easter Wishes...{to You and Yours} ♥

Good Morning All. A super duper speedy post today, to wish you all a very happy and safe Easter. It's a nice quiet time here in our household, a few little day trips and lazy days spent together, just taking it nice and easy.

I wanted to share some piccies of the little Easter Teacher gifts that we put together. A yummy mini Date and Maple Loaf... I found these tiny little loaf pans at a local kitchen shop, they are just so dinky and cute, I will be using them often in the future... and I was able to use some of those lovely Dear Lizzy papers that are so perfect for Easter treats.

That's it from me, I shall be back after the long weekend to share some more fun stuff with you.

Bye for now
