{Happy Mother's Day}

Good afternoon all, have you finished all of your Easter shopping yet? The holidays are fast approaching us here and I am so looking forward to snuggly, lazy mornings with the girls. I have so missed them this term, the start of their schooling days has hit me harder than I had thought. Meanwhile, they have taken to their prep year like ducks to water, and settled in very well, so for that I am very thankful :-)

I have a Mother's Day card to share with you today. I just love this birdy cage stamp, and it looks really nice when embossed in white...

... well thanks for stopping by to see what I have been up to. Have a great day ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

Warning... personal and somewhat lovey dovey post ahead...

Today is exactly 14 years since Dear Hubby and I had our very first date together. It was a fun time, I was 17, and he was an ancient 23... whoa, he seemed like such an older man at the time. We have a funny meeting story, me, being the McDonald's drive thru chicky, and Clint being the drive thru regular... "would you like fries with that?"... Um, no, but how about a wife instead...

Our first date was dinner at McDonald's.. haa haa... and off to see Jumanji at the cinema, it was a simple and lovely night and the start of many great times. He means so much to me, is the daddy to our two gorgeous little poppets, and was the man of my dreams.. and still retains that title 14 years later, so Happy First Date Anniversary to you Dear Clint.

How did you meet your special someone? Would love to hear some of your stories.

Bye for now.

Thank You Card

Hello there. I am taking a little Photoshop break to share a card with you.. I have brain strain! I am trying to teach myself the ways of PS Elements so I can make pretty banners, buttons, etc. I am loving that I can be responsible for the colours and fun stuff on my blog, and change it when I like without it costing me the earth! But, I do have to admit to a few swear words here and there when the program and me just aren't getting along so nicely:)

So here is today's card share...

... more of that delicious Papertrey goodness with the In Bloom and Signature Greetings stamp sets, and my new favourite colour combo, SU!'s Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip and Kraft.

Well, I do hope you enjoy your day. Thanks for stopping by ♥

Change is in the Air

Hello all. Change is in the air for Kathy's Kreations at the moment, I am in the process of changing things around to reflect my style a little better, hence the new banner and title "SweetSimplicitee". I have been busy over the last couple of days opening a second Etsy store - SweetSimplicitee - and putting some of my cards in the store. Everything else is still the same, I just thought it was time for a change. I will keep the Kreations Kathy Etsy store a-happening for a little while yet.

Now time for a little card share, I am still adoring my new PaperTrey stamps, especially this dinky umbrella...

... that's it from me for now. Enjoy your day.
Kathy ♥

Birdy {love}

Good morning all. The weekend is upon us and I am loving the down time, not having to be ready for anything in particular... the chance to simply... BE. Dear Hubby has taken the girls along to the barber with him, so it's a quiet few minutes in slippers and jim jams, with a yummy coffee... that I can drink... wait for it... SITTING DOWN... ahh Heaven... sigh.

Ok, enough of the rambling... see, there was a reason for my blog title... anyways, I am really liking the birdy trend at the moment and loved this stamp as soon as I saw it. I went with my favourite colour combo of pink and brown, and added a little green too.

Thankyou for stopping by to see what I have been up to, and thankyou to those lovely readers that leave comments, you truly make my day. The world of blog is a funny one... it takes time and effort to work at it regularly, time in which I should be folding washing, ironing, etc - and it is really nice to know that others are actually looking at it and I am not just talking to myself ;-) It makes the baskets of washing stacked up in the laundry worth it.

Smiles:) bye for now,
Kathy

{babies, babies, babies...}

Happy Friday to you all. I have been having sooooo much fun with my new goodies. I have gone a little crazy making baby cards, and have four newbies to share with you today. I have made heaps more.... but don't want to overload you too much!

I love the Baby Button Bits set from Papertrey and think it suits my 'sweet simplicity' approach to cards just perfectly...

... and I haven't forgotten the boys;-)...

... and finally, a cute Bridal Shower card to throw into the mix. I think the Scattered Showers set is so adorable and have admired these brollies from afar for so long, it's so nice to be able to finally get to play with them!

Well, that's it for me today, I am off to resize and upload some piccies to Etsy... I am a little worried that my house is going to be buried under handmade cards if I don't so something with them all soon;)

Enjoy your day, smiles :-) bye for now,
Kathy

Three Cheers for the Stamp Fairy!!!

I was lucky enough to get a visit from my lovely Stamp Fairy today... I am sure the rather large, burly parcel man who goes by the name of Nick, may not actually like the term "Stamp Fairy" but hey, it works for me ;-)

I got my yummy SU! delivery of my favourite goodies from the upcoming mini catalogue and some long awaited Papertrey Ink goodness... I finally treated myself to all those stamps I have admired for soooo long...

... and, I had just a quick minute to whip up a cute baby card with the Fox and Friends and Little Angel sets by SU!

I can't wait to get a little more time to have a play with some of these new goodies.

Enjoy the rest of your day, thanks for checking in to see what I have been up to. Smiles :-) bye for now.

Calendar Crazy

Following my dismay at where the days go earlier in the week, I thought it was time to make myself a desk calendar for the year, to help me actually remember the date. I usually make one a little earlier each year, but have been struggling to get through all my little jobs since about December!

Sweet simplicity, my signature style:) It actually stands really well too. I cut two base pieces out of chipboard and covered them with one of my favourite papers from Sassafrass Lass' Owl Pals Collection, then joined them together with some heavy cardstock folded into a triangle across the base, and popped it all together with my Bind-It-All.

Please excuse my photos today, my camera battery died after only a couple of shots, so I didn't have as many to choose from, and I am a little too eager to wait the couple of hours to put my post together, as it always gets a little crazy after school pick up on a Friday ;)

I hope you have a lovely weekend, thanks for checking in to see what I have been up to.
Smiles :-) bye for now.

Thinking of You

Happy Thursday to you, I do hope your week is plodding along nicely.

I am liking stepping out of the comfort zone and using Kraft cardstock as my stamping canvas. I usually prefer to stamp onto white or cream, and leave my Kraft for accent pieces and the like, but there are so many samples around at the moment stamping onto Kraft, that I had to have a go, it's a nice change.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your week. Smiles:-) bye for now.

{Hello Birdy} and {New Toys}

Happy Tuesday All! I made this card last week, and just haven't been sure about it....

...so this afternoon, I decided to change it, only very slightly, but now I am happier with it. What do you think?

I also wanted to share piccies of some new pretties that have arrived on my door step over the last week, I can't wait to have a play with some of these lovely papers, I am a little besotted with the new Dear Lizzy range from American Crafts...

... and here is some more eye candy, loving these papers from Crate Paper and these new stamps.... oh dear... what will I make first?? Not a bad dilemma to have right?

I hope you enjoy your day, smiles:-) Bye for now.

The year is flying by!

While sneaking a quick little blog fix as the girls turn into prunes in the bath tub, I was shocked to discover that it is the first day of March already.... EEEKKK the year is whittling by rather quickly once again! I haven't had as much time to update the blog as I would like, sorry about that, but I didn't want to get halfway through the month without a post, so, here it is...

...a couple of cards I made a week or so ago, to add to my already oversized stash of unused cards ;-)

I hope your week is off to a cracking start... and you are a little more aware of the date than me...

Smiles:) bye for now,
Kathy
