Clean and Simple

I love making clean and simple cards... less is more, right? I tend to either focus on the patterns of some favourite papers to make my cards, or abandon papers all together and just focus on the stamps, making everything else really simple so the stamps stand out and become the feature.

I had a little time last night to put some of those dancing ideas for the Sassafras Lass Yummy in the Tummy stamp set into practice.

Cards 1 and 2 - Ingredients: Yummy in the Tummy stamp set by Sassafras Lass, Making Memories rubons, Pumpkin Pie marker by SU, Cinnamon versa colour ink, Crystal stickles, white cardstock base - so simple, and quick to make.

Cards 3 and 4 - Ingredients: Yummy in the Tummy stamp set by Sassafras Lass, Occassional Greetings and Short and Sweet stamp sets by Stampin' Up!, Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa ink by SU, Porcelain paper by Basicgrey, Earth Love paper by Cosmo Cricket, Sand Beige and Cinnamon versa colour inks.

Trying to get some sewing done today, have been feeling "papery" for a couple of days now so have gone with it, but I know I need to knuckle down now and get cracking on all those bags ready and waiting to be put together.

Have a good day wherever it takes you :)

New Toys

Don't you just love getting new goodies in the mail? I sure do, my parcel man arrives really early in the mornings now, so I can often play with my new stuff the day it arrives which I think is pretty cool.

I am really liking the new Cosmo Cricket Mini Decks, I got a few of each of these, can't wait to break out the Christmas one shortly... and the stamps, such cute little designs, I already have ideas dancing around in my head for these.
I have made a few cards today with the Earth Love papers, loving the colours and designs of them all.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my dear Clint and my Dad - Lloydie, we are thinking of you Dad and hoping you have a happy happy day!
Happy Father's Day to all the special Dad's out there!
My girls are blessed to have such a fabulous Daddy. You are our inspiration, our heart and soul, the air that we breathe.. and the love of my life.

Girls can do anything to their Daddy, and always get a smile from you, you are so special to us.

Well, Daddy, we thinks you are the bees knees, the icing on our cake, the peaches in our cream.
Have a great day Daddy, we love you!
Happy Father's Day.

Inspiration

Do you ever see a piece of fabric, a bag, an item of clothing, something that inspires you to make something? I seem to be drawn to clothes and things that remind me of card making. I picked up a pair of Jim Jams on Thursday and loved them straight away because they inspired me to make a card... yes I am a little strange. Anyways, here are the Jim Jams and the results.

A bit of this... a bit of that

It's amazing how much I can get done when the muffets are at kindy! Finished the three bags from yesterday... almost, still have to unpick the gathering stitches through the centre of the frills - that's why they look a little messy. I save that job for when I am having my chill time with Clint in front of the telly... I am such a Nanna, aren't I? They look a little similar to some others I had made a couple of weeks back. I try really hard to not make two exactly the same, I move the frills around and change the linings, but some are similar as it's just not economical to buy really small amounts of each fabric.

Two made using Patty Young's Mezzanine fabric by Michael Miller Fabrics, the other is Michael Miller's Orchid and Spa range.

A sweet little Baby Girl card that I had in my stash... I love making Baby cards, but alas, I have nowhere for them to go!

Ingredients: Everything Baby stamp set and Stamp-a-majig from Stampin' Up!, Versamark ink, white embossing powder, Basicgrey Porcelain patterned paper, pink Bazzill, button, ribbon and embroidery thread.

... and anothery

Ingredients: Bazzill dots white cardstock, pink satin ribbon and American Crafts rubons - super simple but effective.. I think so anyways.

Seeya:)
