... it all started out relatively well...
... til I realised that 1. My mixture was a little too wet and the balls fell off the sticks when dipped into the coating, and 2. That the candy coating had overheated and wouldn't go the nice thin consistency needed. The next half hour was filled with bowls that resembled a pink bowl of vita brits left for a month, a few tears, sticks standing tall with blobs of cake rolling down them and splatting on my benchtops, a few tears... needless to say, the camera got whisked out of the way and I was in damage control. I am almost too embarassed to share the final product, but I figure it's important to know that not everything works on the first go, right? I'm only human...
...yes, out of 48 cake balls, these are the only ones left standing, and not looking very pretty I might add :( BUT... I will try again, and I won't give up til I get it right!
Now for the success part of the heading...
I made this pretty mobile phone cover last week. I had followed Janelle Wind's gorgeous little I-Phone pattern from Pieces of Me, and made a couple for some groovy friends who have equally groovy I-Phones. They are so fun and quick to make, and a great way to use up smaller pieces of fabric leftover from other projects. I, sadly, don't have a cool phone as yet, so I was able to shrink the pattern down a little and put one together for my smaller phone.
Cute, hey?
Well, that's it from me for now, I would love to hear from you about your successful and not so successful projects this week. Enjoy your weekend, bye for now.

I take my hat off to all you young mothers who juggle child rearing with putting up a successful Etsy shop. Where do you find the time? Two days with our youngest granddaughters has us frayed at the edges. I think your baking efforts look beautiful - hope the children recover soon.
I love my Cake Pops book too! Although I must admit I have not been game to attempt anthing just yet! I love, love, love the iPhone cover it is just so cute!
