Owl Babies

Good morning blog friends. I hope you have had a lovely week. As we head into the weekend here, I have a clean and simple card to share with you. I do love making baby cards... no reason really, don't know of any babies coming along soon, but still, I continue to make them (please stop humming the Psycho music in your head, it's quite rude really) ;-)

I decided to then make a few of them with some different sentiments.

I am a sucker for pink and brown, love these colours together.

On another note, I was very excited to see that there has been over 10 000 visitors to my little blog... ok, in all fairness, perhaps approximately 5000 of these hits were actually me, excitedly checking to see if there were any comments left for me, and then there's the continual updating to the look of my blog on my neverending quest to find the perfect layout and the like, but nontheless.... it is a nice little milestone, so thankyou to those of you who check in to see what I am up to, you make my day  So I thought it only fair to celebrate with a little giveaway that I will post early next week, watch this space over the next couple of days to join in the fun ;-)

Have a lovely weekend, smiles and bye for now.

Card Ingredients: Cardstock - White Base from LSS, Pink by Bazzill, Whisper White from SU!, Stamps - Forest Friends and Little Angel by SU!, Ink - Umber by Versacolor and Rose Coral by Colorbox, Scallop Square and Square Punches by SU!

Tote-ally Lovely

Good Morning all. I do hope your weekend was a lovely one. I managed to get a new bag finished at the end of last week, two actually, I will share my favourite of the two with you today. I love this Heather Bailey fabric, it makes me all happy about Spring, I am a little over Winter and in need of some bright, pretty colours, and yummy sunshine.

And, yes, it matches my elephant pincusion ;-)

I love this fabric with denim ...

...and I love this button that I found at Spotlight on my latest journey, they actually had some really beautiful buttons this time around, I was impressed!

...and here is the inside, with a nice little pocket for some goodies.

I have used it all weekend and it is so comfy and easy to get in to. I am feeling that this pattern (by Simplicity) will become a new favourite of mine! Get ready to see a few of these in all sorts of colours.

Thanks for stopping by, bye for now.

My New Little Friend

Hello Blog Friends, a little while back, I purchased a few little goodies for myself, I seem to have a bit of an obsession for patterns (these are from Heather Bailey's collection)...

...and beautiful crafty books (can anyone relate?), this most recent acquisition being by the fabulous Janelle Wind.

After tackling the Pear in Heather Bailey's pattern, I wanted to make myself a cute pincushion, and here it...uh hum ... I mean, here he is...

I will not pretend to be original and fancy with a really cool name for him, he is simply Ollie, named after the Elephant in Heather's pattern, and he is just awesome at doing his job, that is looking too cute beside my sewing machine... and holding pins of course:) My Ollie is made from Heather's Pop Garden fabric and stuffed nice and full with cushion filling.

My next task is to make something beautiful out of Janelle's book, but I am struggling with which one to try first as they are all so gorgeous!

I do hope you have a lovely weekend, smiles and bye for now folks:)

Some More Craftiness

Good morning Blog Friends. So, following on from my last post, yes, I do have two kiddlies, and my Little Lara's request was a little more difficult than Tahlia's pear. Being the horse/unicorn/pegasus...(anything that neighs)... loving kind of cherub, she requested a unicorn. After going into meltdown at the degree of difficulty on this one, I did find a pattern online here (please note that I am now unable to find this on Melissa's website again, but I will give credit where credit's due... this is where it was... I promise).

Ok, so to set the scene, this was made with a corker of a migraine, a bucket on one side of me (leave that one to your imagination) and Lara sitting on the other side saying over and over Is it ready yet, Mummy? Is it ready yet, Mummy? Is it ready yet, Mummy?

It is very basic, I have never done anything quite like this before, I can't even tell you what the type of stitching is that I have done, does it have a technical name? I was just going back and forth trying to make the outline resemble anything remotely close to a unicorn. Lara does love it, it's pink (her favourite colour) and kind of looks like a unicorn, and was her favourite toy... for about a day... sigh...

Well, that said, it is the weekend here, and I am off to make pancakes and scrummy coffees for breakfast. Enjoy your weekend, smiles :-) and bye for now.

Some Craftiness

Good morning all. At the beginning of my little break from the blogging world, the girls were cranky little campers with nasty colds, so to cheer them up, I asked them what they would like me to make them from my limited sewing skills.

Tahlia asked for a pear... her new most favourite fruit thanks to Grandma :) So I hunted down Heather Bailey's pattern and, voilá ...

...one scrumdiddliumptious pear, ripe for the picking. She does love it and take it to bed most nights which is quite cute. I used some Kokka and Michael Miller fabric scraps that I had leftover and filled it with some stuffing from an old cushion. I like little projects like this that I can finish in a day.

On another note, you may notice that I have freshened up the blog a little. If you do have any problems posting comments or viewing, please drop me a quick email so I can sort it out. Thankyou ♥

Have a good day wherever it takes you, smiles and bye for now.

♥ Good to be back...

Hello there blog friends, it's nice to be back. My "little" blog break turned out to be a "little" longer than I would have liked. I initially took some time out to nurture and tend to my 5 year old cherubs who were battling some nasty ongoing colds and the accompanying sleepless nights, a few minor health hiccups of my own, and another few little curveballs thrown in... then I picked up said colds from the munchkins, and ended up with a pretty nasty bout of it all with a little pneumonia thrown in for good measure, so needless to say, it has been a rather quiet and not so lovely time in our house of late. I have been lucky enough to have dear Hubby and my completely AWESOME parents here to help me through it all, keeping the munchkins entertained and taking such great care of me ♥

I am well and truly on the mend, and looking forward to being on the other side of the haziness, and cannot wait to get all creative and inspired again. Over the last couple of months, I had completed a few little tasks...

...which I will share in more detail over the next few days.

Smiles to you all, and thanks for hanging in there;-)
