Tagalicious

Evening Blog Friends, I was feeling the need to do something crafty today, but also needed to be beside my wee Lara who is still struggling with some really high temps, so I got out a few supplies, parked myself on the loungeroom floor beside my munchkin and got stamping and punching to make some little tags to pop in my Etsy Store. I put these tags on the little I-Phone covers I made for my dear friends, and they were a real hit, so I thought some other Handmade Lovelies might like them on their lovely treasures too ;-)

How cute is that little stamp? I it!

Thanks for stopping by, and thankyou to the lovely ladies who have left me a little blog love, it's really nice to know I am not talking to myself... because I tend to do that a bit.

Enjoy your weekend.

Success and Failure...

Hi there blog friends. Posting time seems to be few and far between at the moment, thankyou for hanging in there. I still have two little unwell cherubs at home, which has been the case for most of this week, we have raspy voices - which I do find quite cute - and the dreaded tonsilitis is visiting again. To cheer things up slightly today, I thought we would do a wee spot of baking, and I thought it may be fun to try something from my new favourite book by Bakerella  (which I just )...

... it all started out relatively well...

... til I realised that 1. My mixture was a little too wet and the balls fell off the sticks when dipped into the coating, and 2. That the candy coating had overheated and wouldn't go the nice thin consistency needed. The next half hour was filled with bowls that resembled a pink bowl of vita brits left for a month, a few tears, sticks standing tall with blobs of cake rolling down them and splatting on my benchtops, a few tears... needless to say, the camera got whisked out of the way and I was in damage control. I am almost too embarassed to share the final product, but I figure it's important to know that not everything works on the first go, right? I'm only human...

...yes, out of 48 cake balls, these are the only ones left standing, and not looking very pretty I might add :( BUT... I will try again, and I won't give up til I get it right!

Now for the success part of the heading...

I made this pretty mobile phone cover last week. I had followed Janelle Wind's gorgeous little I-Phone pattern from Pieces of Me, and made a couple for some groovy friends who have equally groovy I-Phones. They are so fun and quick to make, and a great way to use up smaller pieces of fabric leftover from other projects. I, sadly, don't have a cool phone as yet, so I was able to shrink the pattern down a little and put one together for my smaller phone.

Cute, hey?

Well, that's it from me for now, I would love to hear from you about your successful and not so successful projects this week. Enjoy your weekend, bye for now.

Fabric {Love} ...

Good morning Blog Friends. I am back with a couple of cards to share. I love to sew, but seem to have so many drawers and boxes full of fabric scraps. I just can't seem to bring myself to chuck some gorgeous Timeless Treasures prints, or delightful Amy Butler offcuts in the rubbish.... they are all just too pretty... I put my heart and soul into selecting each piece for a project, so I have been working out ways that I can use my scraps, and that often involves a little card making. Here are some cards utilising some of my favourite scraps, first up are some yo yo's, adhered to the card with some glue dots... a little stamp in some coordinating ink... a matching button... a pretty border and voila...

... and some chipboard rectangles (leftovers from the Star Album covers) covered in fabric and adhered to the card front. It's is so good to use the bits and pieces laying around from other tasks.

What do you do with your leftover pieces of fabric? Are they swallowing up your house like mine?

Have a great day, thanks for stopping by ♥

New Card Designs and {thankyou}

Good morning all, a super fast post this morning with a few new cards to share.

I wanted to say a special thankyou for the well wishes for my first market, too, to my blogland friends, some of whom even popped in to say hello, and to my dear friends (M and M... ♥ ) and gorgeous Hubby and girls, who ventured all the way in, in the rain, you are truly special ♥  Thankyou. I had such a beautiful day, the weather fairy forgot to sprinkle a little sunshine upon us, but time spent with other lovely creative ladies was just awesome, and I can't wait to do it again.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, wherever it takes you. Smiles, bye for now.

{Final Market Tidbits}

Good afternoon Blog Friends. Tomorrow is the day...weeee!!!...my first time ever selling at the BrisStyle Indie Mother and Child Market, so I am getting very excited and praying to the weather fairies to smile down upon Hamilton tomorrow.

I have been madly putting the final touches on my wares for the day (that's been the fun part, I have loved every minute:-))...racing around organising financial type stuff as I have had the pleasure of being a victim of credit card fraud this week (just awesome to be in the Woolies checkout and not able to pay for my milk on my cancelled card, yay, thankyou so much feral dodgy person)...checking out fridges as the door hinge thingy broke on my only 6 year old Westinghouse - the fellow who fixed it and charged me almost $200 to then have the door fall on me while I was getting out the carrots to cook dinner two hours later (yeah, thanks to you too Mr I Said There Was No Guarantee It Would Last)...and just been having a generally fun week...hmmm... do you sense a little sarcasm there???

Anyways, I am finally all sorted and ready to go bright and early in the morning.. and may even get a minute this afternoon to cover the grey's in my hair... yay! Here are some piccies of my cards all ready to go...

... I thought I would share the shot of my cards from the other direction. Dear Hubby works with cranes (real ones), every time I look over at where I have my cards all set up, I have a little giggle at them sharing their little display with a model crane (a replica of one from his work), I mean the thing is huge, this is when it doesn't even have all the boom out... the conditions one must work in....

I have also been working on some Star Albums to take along tomorrow. Usually when I make these little numbers, I personalise them with a name on the front. After umming and ahhing over what to put on these for weeks - Baby, Grandmother, Mum, Mother, Sister, etc, so they will be suitable for purchase for a number of people and for a number of occasions, I have decided to leave them blank. I am going to offer the option of personalising them for an additonal small charge, or selling them as is, a blank album to be filled with treasures precious to the purchaser.

Well, without wanting to sound like the Woolworths Fresh Market Update dude... that's my market update.. hope to see you there tomorrow ♥

Market Fun and Frivolities...

Good morning Blog Friends. I was a little excited to find that one of my card's is featured in the BrisStyle Indie Mother and Child Market  piccy (see below), with loads of other beautiful pink goodies from a whole bunch of super talented crafty folk...

Picture from BrisStyle

... be sure to pop along this Saturday 9th October to Racecourse Road, Hamilton, and get ready to have some fun, as the day turns into a pink fiesta in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

BrisStyle will also be holding a Charity Raffle during the day to raise much needed funds for the Chicks in Pink. I have put together a little card set (which is pink of course), all boxed up and ready to join the assortment of raffle goodies on offer from the BrisStyle team.

Have a great day, smiles and bye for now :-)

For the Boys...

Good morning Blog Friends. I have been making lots of cards, still in preparation for this Saturday's BrisStyle Indie Mother and Child Market. As I have said before, I create cards because I enjoy doing it, and the creative ideas have been really flowing, I now have almost 250 cards ready to go for Saturday. I have no idea what to expect, how many I'll sell, what types of cards will be most popular, but I am having a ball putting each one together.

In sorting the cards I have made in the past, it's really obvious that my creative side is very 'girly' oriented, so I have been working very hard on making lots of 'boy' cards to even out my supplies. Here are a few of the cards I have made for the boys over the last week.

First up... Baby Boys - {soon to be} and {to be}..

.. and Birthday Boys...

... I have made a few of each of these, and changed up the colours and the sentiment on each one so each card is unique in a little way.

Well, as they say, so many supplies and so little time... so if you see something you like and want to know any details of the products used, drop me an email and I'll let you know;-)

Have a great day, and thankyou for popping in to see what has been keeping me busy ♥
