Oh Starry Starry Night... da dee doo...

Happy weekend to everyone... and a thankyou to the lovely ladies who left sweet comments on my last post... I am back on the horse again - am on a self-imposed housework strike, and feeling creative and happy that the weekend is here.

I made this Star album quite a while ago now, I have been meaning to do something with it for ages, but you know when you make something and it's so pretty and you just want to look at it from time to time? So it sits in a drawer, awaiting the next time I want to sit and have a little peek.

When I bought the papers for this album, I forgot to get an extra one for the cover, so I used some plain paper from my stash, and swirly stamps, heat embossed with white embossing powder, and it came out really pretty.

I sewed a zig zag stitch down every second page

I love the colours, so fresh and pretty. The great thing about these little albums is that when you are sick of looking at them or just want to put them away for a while, they fold up so easily and neatly.

Smiles :) and bye for now

One of those days...

I am having one of those days...
...the kind where there is a lot of this to be folded...

...and this to be rebuilt after the vaccuum has done its job...

...then riding this around the house...

...then catching a glimpse of this on the wall and bursting into tears at the mundaneness of what some days become...

... and listening to Lenka singing Anything I'm Not and blubbering a little more...
Have you ever had one of those days, or is it just me?

Another Recipe Box

I am still really missing my crafty time, slowly getting back into the swing of having a timetable again. How has your week been thus far??

I made this recipe box a little while ago using some of my favourite Amy Butler papers from the Belle range. I love these papers and colours.

The stamp set I used is From the Kitchen of by Stampin' Up!, I also used the SU Round Tab punch for the little tags, and my scallop circle nesties.

These little recipe cards were downloaded from the Simply Handmade website and are a freebie for anyone to download, they come in a few colours and are really cute - here is the link

Voila.. the completed recipe box, quite pretty isn't it?
On another note, I recently joined the BrisStyle Etsy team, a lovely group of fellow crafters from Brisbane. Check out their website, some very talented members onboard... you can get lost for hours...
Smiles, bye for now : )

Slack blogger... Sorry : (

I am really struggling to find the time to do any crafting of late... to get five minutes to upload a quick note and pic is even a little difficult at the moment. I know the mother's out there will understand. My two girls are being quite intense of late, and very demanding of my time... not to mention a steady stream of visitors (which has been really nice), and the constant house work and stuff, which is pretty full on with the regularity of dust storms in Brisbane of late. I am not one to start a project that I cannot finish in a day or two, so have had to let the crafty stuff go till I can get a decent block of time to get back to it. I am really missing it!

Thankyou for being patient with me, and I will get back to making some lovely things to share on the blog shortly, but for now, a picture of some hibiscus growing in our garden at the moment. Enjoy!

Smiles, bye : )

Oh how I do love new fabric!

I received another stack of fabric this week to inspire the creative soul.

Beautiful pinks and green from the Girly Girl range by Patricia Bravo, such fresh yummy colours. Maybe a bag? A nice wrap skirt for me... will have to think about these ones....

Cute florals by Riley Blake... I had these as scrapbooking papers a few months back, I so love how the two crafts cross over! Envisioning some cute little skirts and tops for the girls from these...

...and, to get me in the Christmas spirit, some more Riley Blake designs. The plan for these is Christmas outfits for my girls and my little neice, can't wait to get a little time to start on these.

Bye for now : )
