My Girls
The kindy fundraising night last Friday was lots of fun. I was lucky enough to be stationed beside the lovely Lisa from Cute as Buttons. My hubby popped in for a little visit with my very tired little poppets, and Lisa was so lovely to send me home with some gorgeous fabric hair ties that she had made.
Thankyou Lisa... they love them! They couldn't wait to wear them last weekend...and have had them in each day since.
Enjoy your weekend, I do hope the weather behaves. Smiles:) Bye for now.

A Mixed Bag
CAUTION: this post may be a little long-winded
The girls birthday is fast approaching, and I am trying to be super organised and get the little bits and pieces ready for their first kindy party. I had ordered the supplies in plenty of time so I could make the invites and favours and wot not. So, to get to the point, my order arrived from the US today... less the BG Cupcake stamps that I had ordered to make their invitations, which is a bit of a pain, as the store I ordered them through (two weeks ago mind you) has now sold out, so I am a little miffed to say the least. Secondly, I had ordered some cupcake party favour boxes for the party, and as you can see below...
...they are basically big enough to fit one KoolMint... so another little glich in the party planning. On a brighter note...
...a parcel arrived from my lovely sister-in-law all the way from Hong Kong with some lovely little gifts inside...a gorgeous Pashmina shawl - pink, my favourite, and some delicious perfume - so that has put a smile on my face tonight...and I smell really good too! Thankyou Brooke!
And lastly, I was able to catch up with a lovely friend today and hand over the bag that she has been waiting for for a little while now;) Thanks Jini for your patience, I hope you love it.
The fabric used is Anna Maria Horner's Good Folks, the pattern is the Frilly Dilly by Janelle Wind, and the beautiful button is from Tessuti Fabrics.
Well, I think it might be off to Bedfordshire for this chicken, smiles:) Nighty Night.

It's all in the bag...
Good morning. I have been feeling a little uninspired in my sewing of late, after madly getting all the frilly bags ready for the Kindy fundraiser, I started to do it a little out of necessity rather than enjoyment, so had a little break time from the bags. There are so many thing I SHOULD be doing, like making the girls Christmas outfits and stuff, but yesterday afternoon, I got a bee in my bonnet and an idea in my head to make a bag... just because. So here it is, a fun little shoulder bag, that I made yesterday afternoon... I was madly rushing because I thought the power might go out with the storms.
The fabric in this little number is some fun Kokka deer, with a heavyweight canvas-type lining (the fabric starts with O, but I can't quite remember, sorry).
I used Heather Bailey's Scrap flower pattern to make the denim flower...
... and there's a pocket inside for those little everyday things.
I hope your week is off to a good start. Smiles :)

Bags, bags, bags...
...they're very useful things...any other Playschool fans out there?
I am getting all of my wares ready this week for a little local fundraising night this Friday. Don't they all look pretty hanging around together? These are made using Janelle Wind's Frilly Dilly pattern. I have been building a small supply for the night. Any leftovers after Friday will be put in my Etsy store.
After making these lovelies, I am having a wee break from the bag making, and madly prepping for the end of year things... Christmas card and gift making, Christmas outfits for the tiddles, birthday things for the girls which is also in December, and other little bits and pieces... and apparently the girls have told me I am making them a full Rainbow Unicorn costume for Halloween.. yeah, right, ok, well good luck with that one! They only know about Halloween because my birthday falls on the same day. So I am thinking a headband with a cardboard horn on it should be sufficient, my skill levels really won't take me beyond that point unfortunately.
Enjoy your Wednesday. Smiles :)
PS. so for some reason, every now and then, the piccies are not showing up on my screen. Is this happening for you too? Not sure what is going on, let me know if you have any tips. Thanks

Yes.. I am at it again...
I stumbled across this great site today with some gorgeous blog templates - some freebies, some not. I so love this template, I know I only just changed, but I had to have it. Please forgive my erratic behaviour ;)

Cards for the Boys
Seriously... do you know anyone else who changes their blog around so much? Still trying to find my groove and play around a bit, sorry if I keep confusing you. I am feeling a little more Earthy than pink this week ;)
I made these cute baby boy cards last week when I was having a play around with some acetate embellishments from Target. They are such cute little shapes, great for baby cards I think.
Ingredients: Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip cardstock, Chocolate Chip ink, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, White signo Gel pen, Polka Dot background and Small Sayings stamps, Scallop edge punch - all from Stampin' Up!, Acetate giraffe from Target.
Ingredients: Bashful Blue and Close to Cocoa cardstock, Chocolate Chip ink, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, White gel pen, Best Yet stamps, scallop edge punch - all from Stampin' Up!, Swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder, acetate train from Target.
PS. Thankyou and please keep the comments coming... I do think I am just talking to myself sometimes, so it's nice to know I'm not!
Enjoy your week, smiles :)

Coming your way, Mother Goose!
I have been madly making some more Christmas cards today, these ones are bound for my Mum's collection. She does love the traditional Christmas colours, so I have made them all to her liking.. see mum, I do listen...honest. Look out for these in the post Mother Goose ;)
I am excited that the weekend is here... almost. We have a gardening... well, more like a destructive gardening, weekend planned here, need to get rid of some plants and the rendered mailbox to make way for the new fence and gates which go in next week... I know you didn't need to know that, but I am in a rambling kind of mood. I have dibs on the sledgehammer.
Enjoy your weekend, wherever it takes you. I'll go now to save you from anymore useless information that doesn't need to fill your head. Smiles, bye bye :)

The pinks have it...
I was having a little wander through Target today, and never really take a good look at their crafty stuff because basically it's never that great. But today I spotted some cute little embellishments there! Yes, I was shocked too. I tend to not use these kinds of things because I think they can make a handmade card look kind of just like a bought one, but I did like these ones, so have been having a bit of a play with them.
First up is one of the little "rubbery" ones,

Fa la la la la la la la la
I know it's a little ways off yet, but the fellow crafters out there know how quickly it can creep up on you when you need to make lots of goodies on time. The girls belssed me with a little afternoon nap today, and so I was able to work on a few Christmas cards for my own, and mum's stash. I love this design, and think I'll be making a few of these with all kinds of patterned paper. I have made lots more different designs, will save them for later in the week ;)
Ingredeints: Patterned paper - Cosmo Crickets's Jolly by Golly mini deck; Tree Trimmings stamps, Bacic Black, Old Olive and Riding Hood Red ink, scallop edge punch - all from Stampin' Up!; Rub ons - Deja Views; ribbon is double sided satin from Big W.
Another windy and dusty day here... yet again... can't wait for days on end of beautiful blue sunny skies, how about you?
Smiles :) Chat again soon.

Oh Starry Starry Night... da dee doo...
Happy weekend to everyone... and a thankyou to the lovely ladies who left sweet comments on my last post... I am back on the horse again - am on a self-imposed housework strike, and feeling creative and happy that the weekend is here.
I made this Star album quite a while ago now, I have been meaning to do something with it for ages, but you know when you make something and it's so pretty and you just want to look at it from time to time? So it sits in a drawer, awaiting the next time I want to sit and have a little peek.
When I bought the papers for this album, I forgot to get an extra one for the cover, so I used some plain paper from my stash, and swirly stamps, heat embossed with white embossing powder, and it came out really pretty.

One of those days...
I am having one of those days...
...the kind where there is a lot of this to be folded...
...and this to be rebuilt after the vaccuum has done its job...

...and this to be rebuilt after the vaccuum has done its job...
...then catching a glimpse of this on the wall and bursting into tears at the mundaneness of what some days become...
Have you ever had one of those days, or is it just me?

Another Recipe Box
I am still really missing my crafty time, slowly getting back into the swing of having a timetable again. How has your week been thus far??
I made this recipe box a little while ago using some of my favourite Amy Butler papers from the Belle range. I love these papers and colours.

The stamp set I used is From the Kitchen of by Stampin' Up!, I also used the SU Round Tab punch for the little tags, and my scallop circle nesties.
These little recipe cards were downloaded from the Simply Handmade website and are a freebie for anyone to download, they come in a few colours and are really cute - here is the link
On another note, I recently joined the BrisStyle Etsy team, a lovely group of fellow crafters from Brisbane. Check out their website, some very talented members onboard... you can get lost for hours...
Smiles, bye for now : )

Slack blogger... Sorry : (
I am really struggling to find the time to do any crafting of late... to get five minutes to upload a quick note and pic is even a little difficult at the moment. I know the mother's out there will understand. My two girls are being quite intense of late, and very demanding of my time... not to mention a steady stream of visitors (which has been really nice), and the constant house work and stuff, which is pretty full on with the regularity of dust storms in Brisbane of late. I am not one to start a project that I cannot finish in a day or two, so have had to let the crafty stuff go till I can get a decent block of time to get back to it. I am really missing it!
Thankyou for being patient with me, and I will get back to making some lovely things to share on the blog shortly, but for now, a picture of some hibiscus growing in our garden at the moment. Enjoy!
Smiles, bye : )

Oh how I do love new fabric!
I received another stack of fabric this week to inspire the creative soul.
Beautiful pinks and green from the Girly Girl range by Patricia Bravo, such fresh yummy colours. Maybe a bag? A nice wrap skirt for me... will have to think about these ones....

Cute florals by Riley Blake... I had these as scrapbooking papers a few months back, I so love how the two crafts cross over! Envisioning some cute little skirts and tops for the girls from these...
